The Entertainment Magazine

2012 marks 17 years EMOL.org online

2012 entertainment is in 3D at home and the movies

3D entertainment has become a household appliance. But, the fad hasn't caught up yet with either the consumer or broadcasters. Prices for HD TV sets are still high and there is little or no 3D content on television or Blu-ray.

That may be resolved this year as manufacturers produce new, smaller handheld devices that can mimick three-dimensional objects without the need of glasses. Read more about Entertainment Magazine's new 3D entertainment on the horizon.

During the 2011 holiday season, more blockbuster 3D films were released in a home 3D version within weeks of theatrical release. 3D movies may be the key to revive the slumping movie industry.

See the Entertainment Magazine schedule of new 3D movies in 2012, watch movie trailers and read studio production notes of upcoming 3D films.

New Year travel to cost more

The rise in gas prices means airlines pay more too. The chance to score a discount on airfare as the heavy winter and spring travel approaches will become almost impossible unless bookings are done early.

The major online travel agencies are encouraging customers to book early in the spring with today's discount offers, promotional codes and coupons. The best option is to make a reservation before the end of October with one of the travel sites that offer the best deal for your vacation plans. Bundle air and hotel together in a "package" and the cost is discounted.

The current travel deals for the winter are:

  • Expedia: unpublished rates and deals from Expedia.com
  • Orbitz: discount deals
  • Priceline: name your own deal with Priceline.com
  • Travelocity: use a Travelocity promotional code for an extra discount

Watch TV on your own time, own device

How do you watch TV now? On a big screen or a handheld? Plasma or iPad?

Cable and satellite TV has dominated broadcast media for decades. But there is an audience shift to a newer way to watch TV programs- the Internet. Apple, Google, Netflix and other Internet giants are developing new technologies to watch TV on demand over a new range of iTV devices hitting the market this holiday.

The high end-tech gadgets this year are the new 3D capable TVs, 3D Blu-ray players and game motion sensors. 3D home entertainment may help revive the slumping electronics industry. Read more about mobile 3D entertainment from Entertainment MagAzine Online.
