Breezeway: Don't wait to board. Or wait, that's fine too. Breezeway is a dedicated boarding lane that lets First Class, BusinessElite® and Medallion® passengers board at their leisure. So prepare for the flight at your own pace and, when you're ready, hop onboard.

Mobile Check-in: Stuck in traffic and running late? Save time at the airport with Mobile Check-in. Use your web-enabled cell phone to access delta.com, select Check-in, and follow the steps to receive a bar code. Scan your phone at a kiosk to print a boarding pass and you're on your way.

Delta Airlines merger with Northwest Airlines to offer better service, competitive fares

Delta and Northwest are joining together to create America's premier global airline.

This is exciting news for both companies, who together will offer people more choices, competitive fares, and a superior travel experience to more locations than any other U.S. based airline.

This combination will be built on two complementary networks that will create a more stable platform for future growth in the face of significant economic pressure from volatile fuel prices and intense global competition.

Delta will preserve all the hubs of the two carriers and offer enhanced international access to small communities. In addition, as a stronger company, Delta said it will also be able to invest in the fleet and innovative services that will improve the customer experience and expand global options, according to a company press release.

While the merger is undergoing review, which is expected to be completed later this year, it will be business as usual at both airlines. SkyMiles customers will continue to earn and redeem miles. Delta customers will continue to book and buy tickets. Upon closing of the transaction, we intend to combine operations under the Delta brand.
