Anjelah Johnson returns to the Diamond Center

Comedian, actress, and singer Anjelah Johnson returns to the Diamond Center on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Tickets start at $25 and go on sale Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at Desert Diamond Casino’s Rewards Center and through Star Tickets. Doors open at 7 p.m.; show starts at 8 p.m. This is an ages 18 and older show.
Anjelah Johnson-Reyes was born and raised in San Jose, California and is of Mexican and Native American descent. Anjelah was a professional cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of acting. She became an internet sensation with her viral video “Nail Salon” which led to many stand up and performance opportunities. She then joined the cast of “MADtv”, which spawned another internet sensation, the original character “Bon Qui Qui.” Anjelah released three songs and two music videos as Bon Qui Qui then signed a record deal with Warner Bros Records to release a full album in January 2015. Anjelah has also toured “Bon Qui Qui – Gold Plated Dreams” across the country with a full musical production complete with dancers performing the tracks from her WB Records release.
In June 2009 Anjelah recorded her first one-hour special for Comedy Central and Warner Brothers Records titled “That’s How We Do It.” Her second hour special, “The Homecoming Show,” aired on NUVOtv in July of 2013. Her third hour special, “Not Fancy” released as a Netflix Original in October 2015. Anjelah has also guest starred on shows such as “The Shield,” “Ugly Betty,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and others all while traveling with her stand-up comedy. She has appeared in movies such as Our Family Wedding, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel and leant her voice to the animated films Marmaduke and The Book of Life.
