Looking to have a third sell-out performance, Mexican-American music icon Marisela is returning to the Diamond Center on Saturday, Mar. 19, 2016, for a concert sponsored by La Caliente 92.1 FM. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., show starts at 8:00 p.m.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Marisela recorded her first album at the age of 15 in 1984 and continues to release albums into the twenty first century. Marisela’s early career got a boost from the famous Mexican TV show “Siempre en Domingo” by Raúl Velasco and then later expanded into the United States thanks to many other Spanish broadcasting shows famous in the 80’s and 90’s such as “Cristina,” “Don Francisco,” and “Sábado Gigante.”
Marisela’s first record release was titled Sin El, a production of Enrique Elizondo and songs from the now well-known Marco Antonio Solís. “La Pareja Ideal,” a duet between Marisela and Marco Antonio Solis, is one of her most memorable songs, coming out while the two were actually dating. Marisela’s greatest hits include “Completamente Tuya,” “Enamorada y Herida,” “Sola con mi Soledad,” “Ya No,” “El Chico Aquel,” “Mi Problema” and many more.
Marisela is one of those artists that will always remain a favorite in the hearts of her audience, including a new generation brought up on her songs. Now known as “La Eterna Dama De Hierro,” Marisela has recorded 14 albums.
Treena Parvello, Director of Public Relations and Communications for the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise, said “After her last two spectacular performances, we knew we had to bring Marisela back to the Diamond Center for another night of amazing music!
