OHS: “Power War” film

The Oracle Historical Society present in September two events. The first event is the showing the documentary film “Power’s War” on Friday, September 11 at 7:00 pm at Mountain Vista School, 2618 W El Paseo, Oracle. No charge. “POWER’S WAR” is an award winning documentary film directed by Cameron Trejo that delves deep into the circumstances leading up to and following the controversial Power Shootout during the First World War.
The second event in Oracle is the American Flag Ranch Celebration & Territorial Post Office Commemoration on Saturday, September 26 from 11:00am-4:00pm. 4.2 miles east of Acadia Ranch Museum on American Flag Ranch Road, off Mt Lemmon Highway. $5.00 entry fee, 12 and under No Charge, Cash or Check only. Join us for a celebration to commemorate one of the last existing Territorial post office buildings in Arizona. First Day Issue collector’s item hand canceled envelopes will be available for purchase. Tour the restored American Flag Ranch house and see historic displays. Enjoy local musicians, Ric Volante and Jennifer Rinio as well as ranch-grilled food and bratwursts. At 2:00 pm there will be an awards ceremony, dedication and flag raising of a replica of the 34 star American Flag flown over this Territorial Post Office in the 1880’s.
