Expedia Begins Offering WestJet Flights to U.S. Travelers

Expedia, Inc. (NASDAQ:EXPE) , the world's leading online travel company, today announced the expansion of its partnership with WestJet (TSX: WJA), Canada 's leading high-value, low-fare airline.

Now, all of WestJet's published fares, schedules and inventory are available to leisure and unmanaged business travelers through Expedia(R) in the U.S. The agreement builds on WestJet's current relationship with Expedia, under which WestJet flights have been available to Canadian travelers on Expedia.ca.

WestJet President and CEO Sean Durfy anticipates that the addition of Expedia.com to the airline's distribution strategy will have a positive impact on WestJet's growth in the US market.

"WestJet's business stands to benefit as we continue to build our network and capacity in Canada and the US. Expedia's unmatched customer volume, along with the brand and marketing support they provide their partners will help us to grow our network to over 60 destinations in Canada and the US through 2013," said Sean Durfy. "Once we gained full functionality on Expedia.ca, our sales increased significantly, demonstrating the power and reach of the Expedia brand. We're excited to extend our WestJet guest experience to the millions of travelers who visit Expedia.com each month."

Paul Brown, president, Expedia North America and Expedia, Inc. Partner Services Group said, "Travelers book on Expedia because they know we are committed to offering them an unmatched selection of travel options at the guaranteed best price, and WestJet is a great fit with that approach. We're pleased that WestJet will now have access to our highly valuable and incremental travel shoppers on Expedia.com."
