2007 Triple AAA Baseball Season


(1/18/07) The Tucson Sidewinders will add another piece of hardware to the trophy case after a stellar 2006 season by receiving the Minor League Team of the Year Trophy as selected by MiLB.com/MLB Advanced Media.

The Sidewinders garnered the award after finishing the regular season with an all-time franchise best record of 91-53, clinching their first PCL Southern Division title on August 27th. Tucson won more games than any other Minor League team during the 2006 season. Read more...


(10/1/06) Tucson, AZ – The Sidewinders will present the Triple-A and Pacific Coast League Championship Trophies and celebrate the success of the 2006 season on Tuesday, October 3rd.  The event will begin with a press conference taking place in the Sidewinders home clubhouse at Tucson Electric Park. Sidewinders officials as well as Diamondback representatives will be on hand to make an announcement regarding the team’s Player Development Contract.

The festivities will continue at 5:00 p.m. with an open-to-the-public viewing at The Maverick – King Of Clubs located at 6622 E. Tanque Verde Way.  The first 500 in attendance will receive a free limited edition championship t-shirt.  The evening will feature  $1 beverage and hot dog specials mirroring the Sidewinders Thirsty Thursday and Dollar Dog Sunday promotions. 

Fans will be able to get their picture taken with both championship trophies, in addition to Chip Hale’s 2006 PCL Manager of the Year and Andy Green’s 2005 PCL Most Valuable Player awards.  A replay of the ESPN2 broadcast of the Triple-A Championship game in Oklahoma City, OK will be shown during the event.

The Sidewinders finished the regular season with a franchise best 91-53 record, clinching their first PCL Southern Division title on August 27th.  The club won more games than any other minor league team during the 2006 season.  Tucson went 7-1 in the playoffs, claiming the first Pacific Coast League Championship in Sidewinders history and the Tucson franchise’s third the Toros won it all in 1991 and 1993.
