"American Dad" on FOX-TV

Interview with Jeff Fischer

"American Dad" is an animation that revolves around Stan Smith (Seth MacFarlane, "Family Guy"), a CIA agent based in Langley Falls, VA, who is an undisputed weapons expert and proud family man. Stan's wife is the sweet, Edith Bunker-esque Francine (Wendy Schaal), who has carefully hidden her party-girl personality for the sake of the conservative man she loves.

Stan is constantly butting heads with his ultra-liberal 18-year-old daughter, Hayley (Rachael MacFarlane), who is forced to go through an airport-style security check every time she comes home from a day of Women's Studies classes at the local community college.

Hayley's 13-year-old brother is the hapless, geeky Steve (Scott Grimes), a kid who seems to be on the verge of puberty, but can't quite make it past the squeaky awkwardness.

The Smith household is rounded out by two rather unconventional members. There's Roger (Seth MacFarlane), the sarcastic space alien Stan rescued from Area 51 who lives in the Smiths' attic; and Klaus (Dee Bradley Baker), a lascivious, German-speaking goldfish; the result of a CIA experiment gone seriously wrong. Check Out American Dad!: Stan's Best Friend on Hulu.

Meet the real Jeff Fischer

Jeff Fischer can be seen starring in the new hit FOX animated series, AMERICAN DAD. Oddly enough, Fischer plays himself as the character ‘Jeff Fischer’.

The producer’s created the role based on the accomplished voice-over actor’s own persona.  Most Sunday nights, television fans can tune in and watch the antics of  “ultra left wing” Fischer and his fictitious girlfriend, Hayley as the duo’s actions terrorize Hayley’s conservative father.

No stranger to television voice-over work, Fischer began his professional career while attending college at the University of Arizona as the voice in various Pizza Hut commercials.  Soon after relocating to Los Angeles, Fischer began steady work in both commercial and animated voice.  In this field, he has worked on hundreds of television commercials and recently was the voice over host of the 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS.

Fisher’s voice work in animated television includes a recurring regular role as MC Cobra and a guest starring role as Chip in the JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES.

He also had a guest starring role as Gary in the SPIDER MAN series and voiced the Spaced-Out Emperor Penguin in the animated feature film, HAPPY FEET.

Fischer also starred in the Warner Brother’s Pilot, POWER OF TWO in the regular role of Itchy and in the Warner Brother’s Pilot, CATS AND DOGS as the regular role of Lou, The Beagle

His other feature work includes voices in the films, LILO & STITCH, DINOSAUR, ANTZ, ANT BULLY, JIMMY NEUTRON AND HOMEWARD BOUND II.

Fans of Tony Hawk’s video series can hear Fischer as the voice of various characters in TONY HAWK UNDERGROUND and as the Lead Skater in TONY HAWK UNDERGROUND II.

Other creative projects outside of the animated world include an upcoming role in the feature film DEATH AND TEXAS and a recent role in the stage play BLOCKAGE where Fischer received critical acclaim.

LA Weekly- “… Jeff Fischer is a comic joy as Lewis,…”

NoHoLA- “…Lewis, played by Jeff Fischer, managers to steal every scene he’s in….”

Backstage West- “…The performance of Jeff Fisher as Lewis provides the biggest laughs of the evening.”

Jeff Fischer continues to work as a voice over artist and actor.  In his free time he loves to travel the globe, learning about other cultures.  Some of his recent adventures have included Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, The Golden Triangle, Croatia, Panama and many other far away places.
