JOAN RIVERS RETURNS TO TV LAND AS NETWORK ORDERS SECOND SEASON OF HIT REALITY SERIES “HOW’D YOU GET SO RICH?” PREMIERING WEDNESDAY, MAY 5

Series Explores The Aspirational Stories Of Everyday People Who Went From Rags to Mega-Riches

TV Land has picked up the popular reality series “How’d You Get So Rich?” starring the notoriously uncensored Joan Rivers for a second season, premiering on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. 

"How'd You Get So Rich?," a TV Land PRIME original series, returns this spring and will once again take viewers on a journey to meet mega-rich millionaires who worked hard and struck gold.  As she tours the most lavish and extravagant homes, she introduces viewers to folks who made a lot of money in out of the ordinary, fascinating ways and asks all the questions no one else would – in the way only Joan can.  “How’d You Get So Rich?” is a six-episode series from Mark Burnett Productions and Zoo Productions, Inc.  Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick and John Stevens serve as executive producers. 

“It’s so exciting for us to work with our friend, the incomparable Joan Rivers and bring ‘How’d You Get So Rich?’ back to TV Land,” states Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land.

Among the fascinating stories featured in the first season of "How'd You Get So Rich?" was Joan's visit to the home of the inventor of the BillyBob Teeth -- who grew up dirt poor and now owns the largest house in Illinois, a trip to the Versace mansion now owned by a telecommunications tycoon who once went door to door selling cordless phones and a visit to the 11,000 square foot Tampa Bay home owned by the father of the infomercial who made “Ginsu” a household name.

MTV expands programming with new Original Movies

New roster includes: "My Super Psycho Sweet 16", "Turn The Beat Around" and "MADE"

Tony DiSanto, President of MTV Programming announced the network is releasing a slate of original movies crafted for the MTV audience. Projects in production include "My Super Psycho Sweet 16" and "Turn The Beat Around," and currently in development is "MADE."

From high energy dance to chilling horror and underdog comedies, the slate represents a diverse range of projects spun from original series franchises as well as fresh concepts. With two films currently in production and several in development, the network will launch one original movie per quarter beginning in 2010.

"Our mission is to redefine the creative canvas of MTV with a diversity of content in a variety of formats," said Tony DiSanto, President of MTV Programming. "Storytelling is in our DNA, and feature films for television are the next natural step of progression for us. We are thrilled to be in this game."

Madison Penrose gets everything she wants, including her wish to re-open the desolate Rollerdome for her sweet sixteen party. The site of several grisly murders a decade earlier, things become 'psycho' when the killer returns to crash her party. The network has wrapped production on location in Atlanta and the film is set to air in late October following its theatrical run.

The Film Stars Juliana Guill ("Friday The 13th"), Lauren McKnight ("House of Fear"), Chris Zylka ("Cougartown") and Matt Angel ("Raising The Bar"). The film is written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas. Maggie Malina serves as Executive Producer. The film is Directed by Jacob Gentry and Produced by Alexander Motlagh, both of Popfilms ("The Signal" nominated for Best First Feature Award at the 2009 Independent Spirit Awards). Chris Linn is Executive in Charge of Production for MTV.

Rhapsody and MTV are the exclusive places to hear the new Jay-Z album, The Blueprint 3, starting September 1, nearly two weeks prior to official release date. Rhapsody will be the exclusive retailer for The Blueprint 3 from September 8-10, prior to official September 11 release date. Rhapsody collaborates with Jay-Z on TV advertisements promoting the new album -- Rhapsody to premiere a 60-second customized Jay-Z advertisement in 2009 MTV VMAs.

MTV announced the nominees for the "2009 MTV Video Music Awards." The ladies lead the pack as Beyonce and Lady Gaga earn nine nominations each for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring on It)," "Poker Face" and "Paparazzi" respectively. "TURN THE BEAT AROUND"

Set in the competitive LA dance scene, a struggling young dancer gets the opportunity to fulfill her professional dreams when she convinces a wealthy club owner to open a modern disco where young people come to connect through dance.

The club features classic disco hits updated with a modern sound -- and modern dance moves. In the process, her personal and professional lives collide and she finds herself caught between the club's young owner, her dancer boyfriend and the sexy, overly ambitious choreographer she might be about to replace.

The film features stunning dance sequences by renowned dancer/choreographer Tre Armstrong ("How You Move," "So You Think You Can Dance Canada") that combine cutting edge hip hop dance moves with the sensual vibe of classic disco. Music Producer Evan Bogart (Beyonce's "Halo") created a fresh soundtrack that features original remakes of classic disco songs by today's hottest new acts including Cobra Starship and Sing It Loud. The film also features a performance by Warner Bros. recording artist Jason Derulo.

"Turn The Beat Around" Stars: Romina D'Ugo ("So you Think you Can Dance Canada"), Adam Taylor Brooks ("90210"), David Giuntoli ("Without a Trace," "Privileged" ) and Brooklyn Sudano ("90210"). Executive Producers are: Tony Krantz for Flame Ventures, and Steve Levitan for Protocol Entertainment, Bradley Walsh serves as director. Tre Armstrong serves as choreographer and music supervisor is Evan Bogart. Lisa Silfen, Chris Linn and Robin Palmer serve as executives for MTV.

"MADE" (in development)

Inspired by the popular MTV series, this comedy, in the vein of "Clueless" and "Bring It On," features an A-list cheerleader who helps a D-list band nerd achieve her dream of making the squad. The project is currently in development.

Executive Producers are Bob Kusbit and Francis Lyons. Tony DiBari, Lisa Silfen, Chris Linn and Robin Palmer serve as executives for MTV.
