ABILITY360 ORGANIZING MAINSTREAM EXPEDITION: 12-DAY GRAND CANYON WHITEWATER RAFTING TRIP FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES
Ability360’s 360Outdoors is organizing a 12-day white water river rafting “Mainstream Expedition” through the Grand Canyon for adults over 21 with mobility, sensory or cognitive limitations from Aug. 19-30. The trip is fully guided by Arizona River Runners. Support will be provided and medical staff will be on hand.
Registration is open for the trip and can be completed on the Ability360 website.
Cost for the trip is $2950 for participants and $1000 for volunteers. Scholarships are available. Complete information is on the website.
The 226-mile trip of some of the best whitewater rafting in the world runs from Lee’s Ferry-Marble Canyon to Diamond Creek at Peach Springs. The expedition, which is limited to 16 participants, will leave on Aug. 19 from the Ability360 Sports & Fitness Center for the trip to Marble Canyon. The group will be on the river on Friday, Aug. 20, reaching Diamond Creek late morning on Monday, Aug. 30.
“This trip is a tremendous opportunity to experience the thrill of river rafting assisted by professional river rafters and volunteers,” said Ability360 Sports & Fitness Center Vice President and General Manager Gus LaZear.
