On Friday June 2 at 8 a.m., the University of Arizona Eller College of Management hosts its annual Breakfast with the Economists. Presented by JPMorgan Chase, the event celebrates its the 20th year in 2023. Held at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, at 7000 N. Resort Dr., the event features keynote speakers Anthony Chan, former Chase chief economist, and Eller’s own George Hammond who together will offer analysis and insights on what to expect for the future of the global, state and local economies.
“We are honored to be presenting our 20th annual Breakfast with the Economists and grateful to our keynote speakers Mr. Chan and Mr. Hammond for sharing their insights,” says Karthik Kannan, dean of the Eller College of Management. “We also want to thank JP Morgan Chase for their continued support of not only this event but many Eller initiatives.”

During the Breakfast with the Economists, Chan and Hammond will discuss the Arizona and U.S. economies, which remain resilient, and will touch on topics such as job gains, unemployment rates, inflation, population growth, housing rates and more. During the event, they will also address the following questions:
Where are the global, national, state and local economies headed next?
Will restrictive monetary policy succeed in bringing inflation down without causing a recession?
Will financial conditions ease?
Will housing affordability continue to plummet?
How much will manufacturing jobs rise?
