Chicanos Por La Causa Charity Poker Tournament

Desert Diamond Casinos and Entertainment is proud to host the Chicanos Por La Causa Charity Poker Tournament from May 19 – 21, 2017 at its Tucson location on Nogales Highway. The event will be a No Limit Texas Hold’em Tournament with seating limited to 120 participants and a prize pool of up to $20,000. Registration begins April 30, 2017. Buy-in is $150, with $75 benefitting Chicanos Por La Causa and the rest going towards the prize pool and administrative costs.
There will be two qualifying rounds starting at noon on May 19 and 20, with the finals starting at noon on May 21. The tournament will be played in 30 minute rounds. The starting stack will be $10,000, with an additional $5,000 in tournament chips available for a $10 dealer appreciation bonus. $100 bounties will be offered for knocking out key players, as participants support a great cause while enjoying the fun and entertaining atmosphere of Desert Diamond’s Poker Room.
Desert Diamond Casinos has a long history of support Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC), a nonprofit committed to promoting stronger and healthier communities throughout Arizona. Funds from the charity poker tournament will support Nahui Ollin, one of CPLC’s longest-running programs serving roughly 400 students from four local high schools. This program works with students on the importance of building self-confidence while focusing on dropout prevention, reducing and preventing drug and tobacco use, and prevention of teen pregnancy.
