Civil War Artillery Demonstration at the Mescal Movie Set

February 4 @ 10:00 am - February 5 @ 4:00 pm MST

Mark your calendars to attend a “booming event” at the historical movie set!

The Mescal Movie Set and Southwest Living Historical Association are sponsoring a Civil War event featuring cannons and re-enactors from the 3rd US Artillery and 1st Texas Artillery. The two-day event will be held on February 4th and 5th, with demonstrations, tours, and excitement scheduled throughout the day.

Demonstrations of the artillery will include presentations and firing of 19th-century Civil War era armaments, including a Mountain Howitzer, Hughes Gun, and Williams Gun. You are also invited to discover a Civil War encampment featuring tents, cooking implements, and other daily necessities required to keep the soldier in the field. Historical Tours are available that will take you through the world-famous movie set where the movies Tombstone, The Quick and the Dead, Outlaw Josey Wales, and over 100 other classic westerns were filmed. You will walk the same streets as Val Kilmer, Kurt Russell, Clint Eastwood, Sharon Stone, and many more of your favorite stars!
