Roche Unveils Virtual “Faces of a Community” Art Exhibition
The Virtual Exhibition features original works from over 45 artists
For over a decade, Roche Tissue Diagnostics (RTD) has been investing in creativity through local, regional, national and employee art exhibitions at their dedicated gallery space, open to the public.
At their Oro Valley site the pathology customer area brings excellence and innovation to science and engineering, with individuals and teams leading the discovery, development and delivery of diagnostic systems and tissue-based cancer tests that are guiding the future of healthcare.
To affirm their commitment to creativity, RTD is hosting the “2021: Faces of a Community” art exhibition. The exhibition was inspired as a format to engage artists and their viewers with the social relevance of our time.
The past year has been an unprecedented year of challenge for all members of our community. Innovation, creativity, and commitment to community recovery have been at the heart of Roche Tissue Diagnostics’ (RTD) response.
The word “portraiture” encompasses a broad category of artwork that has the power to generate conversation, inspire compassion, and express identity in new ways. Portraits invite discussion and compassion while looking in and through the eyes of another.
Artists were invited to submit up to 5 portraits in any media. The exhibition seeks to broaden the definition of portraiture and highlight the genre’s relevance in society and art. Artworks have originated from direct encounters between the artist and the figure or draw upon existing imagery or historical figures.
The exhibition features both 2D & 3D artworks, including, but not limited to, photography, painting, watercolor, sculpture, and more.
“Looking at the virtual gallery of over 150 original artworks, I am reminded of the power of one to influence many”, shared Darlene Kryza, Philanthropy & Community Relations leader at Roche Diagnostics. “When I look at this collection I see both the vulnerability and resilience that our community has demonstrated over the last year – it’s an inspiration.”
