February 11*- 23, 2020
*Tuesday low cost preview

Invisible Theatre continues its 49th Anniversary “Season of Love” with Susan Claassen* in BECOMING DR. RUTH by Mark St. Germain and directed by Annette Hillman and Fred Rodriguez. Everyone knows Dr. Ruth Westheimer from her career as a pioneering radio and television sex therapist. Few, however, know the incredible journey that preceded it. From fleeing the Nazis in the Kindertransport and joining the Haganah in Jerusalem as a scout and sniper, to her struggles to succeed as a single mother coming to America, BECOMING DR. RUTH is filled with the humor, honesty and the life-affirming spirit of Karola “Ruth” Siegel, the girl who became “Dr. Ruth” – America’s most famous sex-therapist. (*Member of Actors’ Equity Association)

“Have you ever wondered how a tiny matronly woman became the world’s most famous sex therapist? All will be revealed at the Invisible Theatre in Tucson with “Becoming Dr. Ruth”.

The amazing actress Susan Claassen has also become Dr. Ruth with her spot-on portrayal of this wonderful and charming sex expert!”
– Barbara Temple
Former Asst. Producer of “Sexually Speaking with Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer”
on WYNY-FM in Manhattan

“Convincingly and humorously conveys Westheimer’s
surprising dignity, courage, and resilience.”
