Saturday, February 11, 2017 @ 11:00 am - Sunday, February 12, 2017 @ 8:00 pm UTC-7
The center is the vision of proprietors Xavier and Chris Santana, created with the idea of integrating specialty beverage and food, focusing on cooking styles and ingredients, entertainment, and then combining with art and culture in an attempt to ignite Northern California tourism.
Calturas Winery, Brewery and Event Center will open its first phase, the west side, on Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, 12, 2017, as part of Lodi’s Twentieth Annual Wine and Chocolate Event. Experience Calturas’s artisan wines, proprietary craft beers, live music, arts and entertainment while enjoying appetizer bites and various chocolate pairings.
Industry leaders are calling this innovative 11 acre, 70,000 square foot state-of-the-art center “a refreshing boost to California culture.” The center is the vision of proprietors Xavier and Chris Santana, created with the idea of integrating specialty beverage and food, focusing on cooking styles and ingredients, entertainment, and then combining with art and culture in an attempt to ignite Northern California tourism. Both Xavier and Chris grew up in rural California with strong roots in the farming community with a dream to bring front and center a truly unique experience to their home turf. Their ultimate goal is to not only provide customers with the knowledge and taste of the “California Culture” but promote an environment that is unique to Lodi and to all of California.
“Our goal is to offer a place where you can not only order your favorite beverages and experience California cuisine, but also create a distinctive and ever-changing relaxed, yet luxurious and inviting family environment,” said Founder and CFO Chris Santana.
The unique venue will offer visitors a diverse array of activities. Phase one, opening in Feb., will include a small wine tasting bar and small brew pub as a preview of phase two, scheduled to open later in the year. The 6,000 square-foot winery tasting room offers wine by the glass, bottle, or tasting, as well as, educational opportunities and private tastings. The brewery, in its own playful and rustic 2,000 square-foot building with large garage-style doors, opens to the bocce courts and outdoor patio. Guests seeking more intimate gatherings are encouraged to use any one of the six unique and comfortable lounges or four regulation-size bocce courts, which are scheduled for weekly tournaments and family activities. “We strive for a unique experience every time a guest enters the building” explains Santana.
Lodi is the heart of the famous “LoCA,” one of the largest wine growing regions in the world and voted the “2015 Wine Region of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Lodi city leaders have referred to the Calturas project as one of the biggest reusees of property the City of Lodi has seen with the extent of comprehensive change.
Calturas is located at 1333 E. Kettleman Ln. in Lodi, Calif, 90 miles east of San Francisco and 35 miles south of Sacramento. The center will open Feb. 11 for guests, with all amenities scheduled to be available late 2017. Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
