Reid Park Zoo Spring Events

Upcoming event happening at Reid Park Zoo. Kalimba Kee: An African Elephant and his Best Friend, a Hippo on April 22, 2017 from 5:00 PM – 7:00pm. Celebrate Nandi, Tucson’s cutest elephant, with a story about her family far away in Africa. You will love the original story and music written by Tucson Symphony Orchestra’s Michael Fan. The Tucson Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet will be performing a performance of “Kalimba Kee: An African Elephant and his Best Friend, a Hippo” at our beautiful Expedition Tanzania. Prior to the concert, guests will meet our elephant keepers, learn about our herd, and watch them enjoy enrichment items. Light appetizers and drinks are included

Mother’s Day Breakfast: May 14, 2017
8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Treat your Mom to a special day at the Zoo. Start off the morning with a delicious breakfast, (including mimosa!), then take a stroll through the Zoo and watch the Zoo’s animal moms get special treats to celebrate Mother’s Day. You can stop at our Mother’s Day card station to make a card for your mom (or your favorite Zoo mom).

Summer Safari Nights: Every Friday May 19-Aug 4
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Reid Park Zoo’s Summer Safari Nights, presented by Tucson Medical Center, are back and by request, we’ve added 4 more nights of adventure to the series! Enjoy the Zoo each Friday during cooler evening temperatures with the added benefits of live music, family-friendly animal features, special dining options, and gift shop discounts. Bring a blanket and purchase your dinner or snacks (or even a cold beer or glass of wine), then relax and enjoy a picnic concert. Wander through the Zoo for Keeper chats, animal encounters, sponsor booths, and wildlife activities*. The bands and animal themes will change each week, so be sure to mark your calendar for every Friday, May 19-August 4!

*During evening events, animals are given access to their night-houses for their comfort. Some animals may choose to be off exhibit.
