PHOENIX

9/21 – JUNIUS @ YUCCA TAP ROOM – 29 W SOUTHERN AVE – AGES: 21+ – $12 GA – DOS: 7:30
*On tour with Black Mare and Mustard Gas & Roses
*Latest Album, Eternal Rituals for the Accretion of Light, out Now via Prosthetic Records | www.smarturl.it/Junius17
*The album marks the completion of their conceptual trilogy which began in 2009 with their evoking LP The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist, depicted by Rolling Stone as, “a perfect hybrid of Neurosis and The Smiths” followed by 2011’s Reports From The Thresholds of Death. The critically acclaimed 2014 EP, Days of the Fallen Sun, was lauded by Pitchfork as their “strongest and most sensuous work to date”.
*Recorded, mixed and mastered with longtime friend and producer Will Benoit (Caspian, Rosetta, Ellie Goulding), Eternal Rituals for the Accretion of Light takes inspiration from Elisabeth Haich’s autobiography “Initiation”, all the while touching on topics including karma, reincarnation and spiritual development across it’s ten melodically divine tracks. Following the departure of former member Mike Repasch-Nieves (guitars), the album was entirely wrote and performed by vocalist/guitarist Joseph E. Martinez, excluding drums/percussion which were completed by Dana Filloon. The album also features guest appearances from Drew Speziale (Circle Takes the Square) and Gian Minardi (General Public). *Whilst not working on the new material, JUNIUS have spent the past three years touring across North America and Europe with acts including Solstafir, Caspian, Long Distance Calling and Wolves Like Us – just to name a few, as well as making a featured performance at the prestigious Roadburn Festival in 2015

11/21 – BARB WIRE DOLLS @ THE REBEL LOUNGE – 2303 E INDIAN SCHOOL ROAD – $15 GA – DOS: 7:00/SH: 8:00
*Featuring support from Russia’s SVETLANAS and Korea’s 57
*New album: Rub My Mind | out now via Motörhead Music
*The 13-track album was recorded in the Joshua Tree desert at legendary studio Rancho De La Luna in California, where Iggy Pop and Queens Of The Stone Age made their seminal albums. Produced and mixed by Jay Baumgardner (Evanescene, John Fogerty, Bush), Rub My Mindis a collection of thirteen eclectic tracks that reflect on the state of our world, how to deal with it – and how to escape it! Rub My Mind builds on the energetic platform of their last two releases – Slit (2013) and Desperate (2016) – delivering an album that confidently grabs your immediate attention. Rub My Mind’s soundscape blends the melodic rage of lead guitarist and former pro surfer and skateboarder Pyn Doll, the crunchy rhythm guitar of Remmington, the pulsating bass of Iriel Blaque, the Bonham-esque power of Krash Doll on drums; all led by Isis Queen’s dynamic vocals and flamboyant presence. Dedicated to legend Lemmy, the album is an exciting retro cocktail of late ’70s influenced punk and ’90s grunge refracted through the prism of 2017. Hailing from an artist commune on the island of Crete, BARB WIRE DOLLS sold everything they owned and left crisis-ridden Greece in 2010 for Los Angeles, at the invite of legendary KROQ DJ Rodney Bingenheimer. The band’s electrifying rock did not go unnoticed by the elder statesman of the Sunset Strip, the incomparable, irreplaceable Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead. After seeing BARB WIRE DOLLS live, Lemmy took an immediate interest in the band and had them signed to the Motörhead Music record label. Having played over eight hundred shows in 25 countries, and with an extensive and diverse live support under their belt – including the likes of GBH, Status Quo, NOFX and Steel Panther – BARB WIRE DOLLS are ready to pick up where Vans Warped Tour left off…

*On Tour with The Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, Exhumed, Decrepit Birth & Necrot
*Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, an early incarnation of the group was more of a hardcore/punk band but as the band’s influence of Celtic Frost, Darkthrone and Disfear started showing up more in their music, they chose to rebrand themselves as Wormwitch. In October of 2015, they released their first EP, The Long Defeat. In early 2016, No Clean Signing premiered a new track, Coffin Birth, describing it as a “high-octane rush of deep, grinding riffs, piston-driven drumming, and thundering bass, with a heavy-as-hell production.” It was then that they caught the attention of Prosthetic Records and soon a worldwide deal was struck. A few short months later, they entered Rain City Recorders with producer Curtis Buckoll (Archspire) to begin work on their debut album, Strike Mortal Soil. Integrating equal parts black metal savagery and rock n’ roll defiance, Strike Mortal Soil, stands like a monolith commemorating those that came before while dispersing a beacon of hope to the future.
