Rogue: A House of Pomegranates
Thursday, July 6, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - Sunday, July 16, 2017 @ 10:30 pm MST
A House of Pomegranates by Rogue Theatre from July 6 – 16, 2017. Directed by Joseph McGrath with Choreography by Ashley Bowman and Music by Jake Sorgen. An adaptation of three of Oscar Wilde’s short stories (a comic murder mystery, a fairy tale, and a myth in Biblical style) explores both the limitations and resilience of the human soul. Production Sponsors: Ann & Nils Hasselmo. Buy tickets 520-551-2053
The stories are fanciful and beautiful, and Wilde’s prose is surprising and rich and, of course, full of wit. The three stories are Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, The Happy Prince, and The Fisherman and His Soul.
But the really cool thing has been working with the artists and dancers of Artifact Dance Project, our summer collaborators. They are incredibly energetic and creative and so much fun.
Oh, Rogues, once again we’re creating something really special for you! We’re telling Wilde’s stories through a combination of dance, music, theatre, and, as always, your imaginations.
Rogue regulars Ryan Parker Knox, Holly Griffith, Bryn Booth, and myself, along with returning favorite Steve McKee and first timer Hunter Hnat, are joined by Claire Hancock, Allie Knuth, Brendan Kellam, and Nate Myers from Artifact, with choreography by the brilliant Ashley Bowman and direction by the inimitable Joseph McGrath. Add Jake Sorgen’s beautiful score for piano and guitar, and we have a summer extravaganza!
