Sahuarita Celebrates Artists of all Ages, Cultures and Backgrounds with the Inaugural Sahuarita Creative Arts Festival
The Sahuarita Creative Arts Festival brings two days of outstanding art, live performances, interactive creative experiences, delicious food and so much more to this anticipated celebration on March 14th and 15th.
Join the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA) and the Town of Sahuarita as they partner to present a much-anticipated new celebration of arts and culture on March 14th and 15th, 2020 at the Sahuarita Town Hall Municipal Complex. For two days, the community has an opportunity to experience a vast array of arts and creative experiences in a scenic setting. The Festival takes place Saturday, March 14 from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday, March 15 from 10 AM to 4 PM at 375 W. Sahuarita Center Way Sahuarita, AZ 85629.
The Sahuarita Creative Arts Festival is the true essence of creative placemaking. The two-day Festival hosts over 55 visual artists in the first year, as well as locally and nationally recognized musicians and performing artists, engaging family arts activities, food trucks, and cultural group experiences. Cultivating the arts as an essential part of Sahuarita’s identity, the Festival brings the community together, stimulates the local economy, enhances surrounding non-arts businesses, and provides opportunities for local artists to promote their work.
Sahuarita is located in the historic Santa Cruz Valley, surrounded by early Spanish missions, frontier outposts and historic mines. Located just 15 miles south of Tucson, Sahuarita is south of the Tohono O’odham Nation towards the north end of Green Valley. The environment encompassing the town—called the “Gateway to Arizona”—creates the perfect setting for contemporary artists drawn from all parts of the state to showcase creative crafts.
