STYX 2021 TOUR 2-NIGHTS IN PHOENIX

September 9, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 11:30 pm MST

STYX 2021 TOUR INCLUDES 2-NIGHTS IN PHOENIX
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 l THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

PHOENIX, AZ – Sweet, sweet sounds will fill the air when Danny Zelisko Presents welcomes multi-platinum selling rockers STYX to the historic Celebrity Theatre for two shows: Wednesday, September 8th and Thursday, September 9th. Showtimes are 8 p.m. For tickets and the venue’s Covid vaccination policy, visit celebritytheatre.com.

After spending the past year on the touring sidelines because of the pandemic, STYX has returned to the road with their 2021 Tour. Concert goers can expect to take in STYX gems like “The Grand Illusion,” “Blue Collar Man,” “Lady,” “Miss America,” “Crystal Ball,” “Come Sail Away” and “Renegade” as well as new material from their 17th studio album, Crash of the Crown, recently released on the band’s label Alpha Dog 2T/Ume.

The album was written pre-pandemic and recorded during the trying times of the pandemic by the group’s multi-platinum rockers James “JY” Young (lead vocals, guitars), Tommy Shaw (lead vocals, guitars), Chuck Panozzo (bass, vocals), Todd Sucherman (drums, percussion), Lawrence Gowan (lead vocals, keyboards) and Ricky Phillips (bass, guitar, vocals). STYX’s holy mission for cutting Crash of the Crown was crystal-clear to its co-creator. “Absolutely no obstacles were going to get in the way of how we approached creating this album,” singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw concludes about the herculean recording efforts of his fellow COTC makers. “And everything came out exactly the way we wanted to hear it.”

Crash of the Crown is the follow-up to STYX’s 16th studio album, The Mission (their first in 14 years at the time, which critics called “a masterpiece”). The highly anticipated two-disc reissue of The Mission (released July 27, 2018, via Alpha Dog 2T/Ume), includes a CD of the original album, as well as a Blu-ray of the album mixed in 5.1 surround sound accompanied by stunning visualizations for each of the album’s 14 songs based on the album artwork. It originally debuted on various Billboard charts, including: #6 Top Rock Albums, #11 Physical Albums, #11 Vinyl Albums, #13 Current Albums, #14 Billboard Top Albums, #16 Retail, #17 Mass Merch/Non-Traditional, #29 Digital Albums, and #45 Billboard 200 (includes catalog and streaming).

Doors open at 6 p.m. Reserved tickets ($40, $70 and $105) are still available online at www.celebritytheatre.com or by calling 602-267-1600. All tickets are subject to sales tax, facility and ticketing surcharges. All ages welcome. Celebrity Theatre is located at 440 N. 32nd St., in Phoenix.
