Wednesday, July 31, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm MST
The Alarm – Sigma LXXXV Tour 2019 Featuring Modern English & Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel, July 31st. A fraternity of alternative British rock bands led by acoustic pioneers The Alarm, post punk auteurs Modern English, and the charismatic Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel announced that they will take to the road throughout North America this summer 2019. Tickets are on sale now for their 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31st concert at the historic Celebrity Theatre.
“The Sigma Tour will bring out the best that The Alarm has to offer the 21st Century,” says Alarm lead singer Mike Peters. “We look forward to taking part in an event that, along with our friends Modern English and Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel, will hopefully, live long in the memory for all our fans. Expect collaboration, moments of reflection, camaraderie and the unexpected. The tour will be alive on all social media platforms allowing fans from around the world to see what it’s like for British bands to be on the road in the USA.”
Famed ‘80s new wave Welsh band The Alarm has enjoyed a zealous following, one that supported the band to the tune of over five-million sales worldwide and 16 Top 50 U.K. singles. Classic tracks from their illustrious history include “The Stand,” “Sixty Eight Guns,” “Strength,” “Spirit Of ’76,” “Rescue Me,” “Sold Me Down The River” and the band’s perennial “Rain In The Summertime.” The group released Equals in June, The Alarm’s first full album in eight years, which hit No. 3 on the U.K. Rock chart.
British new wave band Modern English may look a little different than they did back in 1981, but the music is better than ever. With songs like “Hands Across the Sea,” “Ink and Paper” and their mega smash “I’ll Melt With You,” the group is still a staple of American First Wave Alternative radio station playlists. Modern English’s latest album Take Me To The Trees was released in 2017.
Also hailing from Wales UK, are Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel, who first broke onto the American charts in 1985 with a cocktail of infectious hit songs such as “Desire,” “Jealous” and “The Motion Of Love.” Dance Underwater released, in 2017, is the post-punk outfit’s first studio album in 14 years.
With all three artists still proving to be as creative as ever, The Alarm will release a new album Sigma to coincide with the tour on June 28th, 2019.
