TMA: Re-opening Weekend

Admission is free to the general public throughout the weekend as we want to open the doors to the entire community for the celebration. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days with new galleries, new feature exhibitions, and new selections from the museum’s permanent collection on view. The two feature exhibitions holding their openings are Dress Matters: Clothing as Metaphor and Desert Dweller. News releases describing the two exhibitions are attached as well the TMA release on the reopening.
The schedule of events is as follows:
Saturday, October 21
11:00 am – Performance by Stories that Soar!
1:00 pm – Dress Matters curator tour with Julie Sasse, Chief Curator and Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art
3:00 pm – Performance by Ballet Folklorico Tapatio
The evening continues at the Scottish Rite Cathedral with a screening of House of Z, a documentary on the life and work of the design Zac Posen, courtesy of Film Fest Tucson.
Sunday, October 22nd
11:00 am – Dance performance choreographed by Shelly Hawkins Co.
1:00 pm – Curator tour with Christine Brindza, Glasser Curator of Art of the American West
3:00 pm – Drumming performance by Solidarite Sympa
