Tugo Bike Share station
Thursday, November 2, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am MST
Tucson’s new Tugo Bike Share station equipment will be installed at the Rio Nuevo Station on Thursday, November 2 at 10 a.m., located at the Tucson Convention Center on the west side of Church Avenue, south of E. McCormick Street. The installation process includes placement of stations using a high-rise crane.
The Rio Nuevo Station is one of 36 self-service, solar-powered Tugo Bike Share stations in the Downtown and University areas. Collectively, these stations will make more than 300 bikes available for daily, monthly or annual rentals.
In launching Tugo Bike Share, Tucson will be joining more than 50 American cities that have a bike share program. Approved by the Tucson City Council in June 2016, the bike share system will be operated by Shift Transit, with equipment and technology provided by PBSC Urban Solutions. In 2017 alone, Shift Transit customers have taken more than one million rides via the company’s bike share systems across North America.
