Two Tucson Choruses Join For ‘A Bit of Fun’
Sunday, April 14, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm MST
Two choirs and an assortment of silly songs add up to “A Bit of Fun” on April 14. The Southern Arizona Women’s Chorus will join with the University of Arizona’s Faculty/Staff Choir with a program of songs like “Jabberwocky,” “The Sow Took the Measles,” “Chopsticks” and other light fare.
”SAWC has performed more serious concerts the last few seasons so we decided just to have fun with this one,” said Terrie Ashbaugh, executive and artistic director for SAWC and founder of the Arizona Choral Arts Association. “It’s light and bright and just plain fun.”
UA Faculty/Staff Choir is directed Gabriel Machado, a graduate student at the Fred Fox School of Music. The mixed-voice chorus is composed of faculty, staff, affiliated personnel and graduate students.
The program starts at 6 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1220 W. Magee Road. Tickets are $20 at the door and can be purchased in advance online at www.azsings.org.
