Shop Talk: The Work of Ocean Vuong: April 4, Tuesday at 6:00 PM / Shop Talks take a “round table” approach to scholarly investigation of poetic works, resulting in a collegial atmosphere; no advance knowledge of the poet or works discussed is required. Led by TC Tolbert.

Poetry Yoga: Session 1: April 5, Wednesday at 6:30 AM / Join Poetry Center Docent Jeanne Osgood for this short series of yoga sessions using poetry in the month of April.This event is free but requires participants to sign up here.

Ocean Vuong & Camille Rankine: April 6, Thursday at 7:00 PM / The Poetry Center is proud to present Ocean Vuong & Camille Rankine, who will read from their work. After the reading, there will be a short Q&A and a book signing.

A Closer Look Book Club- “The Sympathizer” by Viet Thanh Nguyen: April 12, Wednesday at 5:00 PM / To participate in a Book Club conversation, just read the book and join us on the red couches in the lobby of the Poetry Center.

UA Prose Series: Elena Passarello & David Shields: April 13, Thursday at 7:00 PM / The UA Prose Series, curated by faculty of the Creative Writing Program at the UA, presents prose writers of distinction. The UA Poetry Center is proud to present Elena Passarello & David Shields, who will read from their work, followed by a short Q & A.

This Is The Way We Begin And End Things: A Conversation About Poetry & Film: April 25, Tuesday at 5:30 PM / Join the UA Hanson Film Institute and the UA Poetry Center for an hour-long conversation about collaboration through film and poetry with Ofelia Zepeda and Jonathan VanBallenberghe. This event takes place at the Center for Creative Photography Auditorium.

Oro Valley Poetry Circle: Praising Spring Through The Ages: April 27, Thursday at 2:00 PM / Led by UA Poetry Center docents, Poetry Circle is a program to expand participants’ knowledge and appreciation of poetry. No prior poetry experience necessary. This event takes place at the Oro Valley Public Library.

Persona Issue Release: April 27, Thursday at 7:00 PM / Established in 1978, Persona is the University of Arizona’s undergraduate literary journal. Contributors to Persona read at this celebration of the new issue.

Family Day: April 29, Saturday at 10:00 AM / Activities for the whole family. Creative writing workshops at 10:00 a.m., a breakfast concert featuring musician Gabrielle Pietrangelo, healthy food, coffee, begins at 11:00 a.m.
