Willcox Wine Country Fall Festival 2019
Saturday, May 18, 2019 @ 11:00 am - Sunday, May 19, 2019 @ 5:00 pm MST
Willcox Wine Country Fall Festival Returns May 18-19, 2019. Arizona’s largest and longest running festival expands to include awards benefit dinner, theater fundraiser and a larger presence in downtown Willcox. It started as a “What If?” ten years ago. Today, the Willcox Wine Festival is the largest, most beloved wine festival in Arizona. This year we are excited to announce:
The 1st annual Willcox Wine Country Competition. Over the past few months, wines made with Willcox wine grapes were submitted to Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago for evaluation. The results of this competition will be announced on Friday at the Awards and Benefit Dinner.
The dinner benefits the Northern Cochise Community Hospital. There will be a silent auction and donations are welcome. The hospital will also benefit from raffles and silent auctions throughout the festival on Saturday and Sunday.
At the winemaker’s dinner, two Willcox Wine Country pioneers will be recognized: Bob Webb and Dr. Mike Kilby. Both played a significant role in putting Willcox Wine Country on the map.
Our second addition for this spring’s festival is a fundraiser for the Historic Willcox Theater & Arts. This event will happen on Saturday evening after the festival. Guests will sample award-winning wines, enjoy culinary delights and be invited to a movie. The theater will be showing the world premiere of Pokémon Detective Pikachu or the cinema classic Casablanca.
The wine festival will be held on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. With the help of the City of Willcox, ADOT and Cochise Country, Maley street will be closed for the festival. This closure allows the festival to grow and encompass more downtown business. This spring there will be over 60 artisan, craft and specialty vendors; multiple food trucks and our Willcox Street Bistro; and a few surprise activities for festival goers.
The center of the festival is located at the historic Railroad Park, 157 N. Railroad Avenue, Willcox, AZ 85643, just steps from the Willcox Wine Trail and local vineyards, the festival will feature over 18 Willcox-based wineries pouring their award-winning wines and top music acts hailing from Phoenix and Tucson.
