CMA LAUNCHES REDESIGNED MUSIC FESTIVAL SITE WITH INTEGRATED WEB AND VIDEO EXPERIENCES

PROMOTE AWARENESS FOR “CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL: COUNTRY’S NIGHT TO ROCK” AIRING MONDAY ON ABC

CMAfest.com and ABC.com Both Offer Fans a Behind-the-Scenes View of 2008 CMA Music Festival

NASHVILLE – CMAfest.com is newly designed and providing Country Music fans more ways than ever to be a part of the CMA Music Festival experience, including interactive videos. The site features special performance footage from the Festival, picture flipbooks from LP Field, links to more Country Music information, and an invitation for any Country fan to receive the periodic CMA Exclusive e-newsletter, where fans can get up-to-date CMA announcements and artist information.

“Awareness of the Festival peaks in the days leading up to the airing of our network, primetime special Monday on ABC,” said Tammy Genovese, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “And the redesigned site provides a great platform for reaching music fans who are potential Festival attendees.”

“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” airs Monday, Sept. 8 (9:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network. The special features performances from the CMA Music Festival and behind the scenes stories of fans and the artists they admire.

The television special will be hosted by three of today’s hottest hit-makers, Taylor Swift, Julianne Hough and Kellie Pickler and include performances from Trace Adkins, Rodney Atkins, Bucky Covington, Billy Ray Cyrus, Faith Hill, Hough, Alan Jackson, Jewel, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Swift, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson and Dwight Yoakam.

Fans visiting the site have the opportunity to get a head-start on next year’s Festival by purchasing tickets for 2009. CMAfest.com’s newest element showcases interactive videos for fans to be a part of the action as it was captured during the 2008 CMA Music Festival.

CMA and ABC.com will give Country Music fans the chance to go backstage and see interviews and artist interactions from the 2008 CMA Music Festival at CMAfest.com and ABC.com, as well as on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter social networking sites via YouTube.   

“The online world is growing everyday and CMA is very excited to give fans an interactive experience,” said Genovese. “Both CMA and ABC are delighted to provide special videos just for the fans. After all, it is the fans that make the Festival such an overwhelming success.”

Former Miss USA Rachel Smith caught all the behind-the-scenes action in vignettes for CMAfest.com and ABC.com. Smith captured backstage interviews with many fan favorites including Adkins, Cyrus, Hough, Jackson, Lambert, Pickler, Swift and Yoakam. The interactive experience also lets fans see Smith hanging out with Country stars like Phil Vassar and Chuck Wicks.
 
The online content will use Macromedia Flash technology to view these exclusive videos on-demand and allow fans quick and easy access to the fun and diversity of CMA Music Festival that was developed and designed by interactive marketing company Hi-Fi Fusion.

“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” is executive-produced by Robert Deaton and directed by Gary Halvorson. The 2008 CMA Music Festival is organized and produced by the Country Music Association. The special was shot in high definition and will be broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound.
