It is easier to park Downtown Tucson
Gem Show traffic limits parking options downtown
With all the improvements this past year, there will still be limited parking available in the Downtown Tucson area.
The Downtown Tucson now has 14,000 parking spaces, 1,000 parking meters and eight parking garages available to the public. During the Gem Show, the demand for those spaces will fill up quickly early in the morning.
Special Gem Show parking is available at 22nd St. and I-10 frontage road (East side), and Congress St. and I-10 frontage road (West side) as well as at the JOGS show at Tucson Expo Center on East Irvington Road.
New Downtown Garage
A new downtown parking garage opened in September at Congress Street and Toole Avenue on the far east side of Downtown.
The new, 378 space, parking garage is the first phase of the Centro Project on Congress Street. The second phase, scheduled to be completed in 2013, includes 20,000 square feet of retail, office and residential ontop of the parking structure.
