Dreams-Come-True Experiences Fill at Walt Disney World Resort

Did you ever dream of spending a night inside a castle? Or want to enjoy the charming story of Nemo, the clownfish, in wholly new ways? Or have the urge to just laugh ... and then laugh some more?

Those whims, wishes and grand dreams may all come true as Walt Disney World Resort premieres two attractions and a theatrical spectacular and opens the door on a lavish, money-can't-buy experience -- all during "The Year of a Million Dreams," a first-of-its-kind event celebrating the dreams of Disney Parks guests. Here's what's in store:

  • The undersea world that charmed audiences around the world in the Disney-Pixar animated film "Finding Nemo" comes to life in an all-new musical stage show, "Finding Nemo-The Musical," premiering in late January at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Featuring original songs by Tony Award-winning "Avenue Q" co- composer-creator Robert Lopez and a cappella musical "Along the Way" co- creator Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the 30-minute show immerses guests of all ages in the story of Marlin and Nemo, an overprotective clownfish father and his curious son, through a dazzling production that combines puppets, dancers, aerialists and animated backdrops. The theme park's newly enclosed Theater in the Wild becomes a magical undersea environment through innovative lighting, sound, special effects and the theatrical puppetry of Michael Curry, who co- designed the richly detailed character puppets seen in the Broadway version of Disney's "The Lion King." (Theme park guests are invited to sit in on preview performances now.)
  • "The Seas with Nemo & Friends," a whimsical and visually stunning attraction for guests of all ages, picks up where the motion picture "Finding Nemo" left off. Featuring technology that causes the stars of the motion picture to magically appear swimming amid the marine life of the huge aquarium in The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion (formerly The Living Seas) at Epcot, the adventure begins when guests board "clamobiles" for an undersea voyage in a colorful coral reef setting. The journey in search of a lost Nemo includes familiar characters such as Dory, Bruce, Marlin, Squirt and Crush. These deep- sea friends inhabit a variety of vibrant vignettes, including the actual aquarium - a 5.7-million-gallon saltwater environment containing more than 65 species of marine life. In the musical finale of the attraction, Nemo is happily reunited with his father and friends.
  • Cinderella Castle Suite, regal living quarters within the iconic Magic Kingdom park, will provide overnight accommodations for lucky guests selected randomly as part of the Disney Dreams Giveaway awarding millions of dreams throughout the year (visit disneyparks.com/rules for more information). The suite -- a bedchamber, salon and bathroom off a private marble-floored lobby some four stories above the surrounding Magic Kingdom -- has been designed and appointed to inspire immersion into the late 17th/early 18th century period of the Cinderella story ... but with surprise touches of "Disney magic." First lucky guests will be randomly chosen in late January.
  • Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club in Magic Kingdom promises to be an immersive and interactive attraction in which guests can laugh, joke, match wits and laugh some more with comedian wannabes recruited by Mike Wazowski, the one-eyed hero from the Disney-Pixar animated film "Monsters, Inc." Mike has designed the comedy club to collect laughs that will generate power for the future. The fun will reign starting this spring at a 400-seat theater in Tomorrowland.
