Arizona’s premier western auction house and gallery signature event

Wickenburg, Arizona – Western Trading Post, Arizona’s leading western-themed auction and gallery, will hold a grand opening event on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 8 AM to 5 PM to celebrate the opening of its new facility in Wickenburg, Ariz.

“Western Trading Post is a historic trading post that traces its roots back to the old West,” says co-owner Jim Olson. “We promote the western way of life – it is the heart of everything we do,” adds Bobbi Jeen Olson. “We live and love this lifestyle every day and we are deeply passionate about western history and preserving it. We are proud to be involved in the western community and preserving history.”

During the day-long grand opening, visitors will enjoy viewing the state-of-the-art facility, experience wagon museum tours, horse-drawn carriage rides, gunfight performances, great food from local butcher expert Capital Farm Meats & Provisions, western fashion courtesy of Wild Instincts and a dueling auctioneer exhibition, along with other activities.

The key events during November 8 are:

8 AM-12 PM: Pour Jo’s coffee time and snacks

8AM-5 PM: Trunk show by Wild Instincts, sale on gallery items, Western-theme vendors on back lot

9 AM-3 PM: Horse drawn carriage rides

9 AM-4 PM: Wagon museum open for tours

10 AM: Ribbon cutting ceremony with local dignitaries

11 AM: Six Gun Entertainment Wild West gunfight

12 PM: Capital Farms lunch begins

1 PM: Six Gun Entertainment Wild West gunfight

2 PM: Auctioneer exhibition in main auction room

Family-owned and operated Western Trading Post represents three generations. Jim Olson is a historian, published author, auctioneer and former professional rodeo cowboy. Bobbi Jeen Olson is a professional actress, model and stunt double who has appeared in many western projects and is a known face in the western fashion industry. Betty Whiteley manages the gallery and is knowledgeable about jewelry and gemstones. Son Rowdy James is an auctioneer and award-winning filmmaker.

“We’re a piece of living Western history for collectors, tourists, traders, western lovers and auction junkies,” says Rowdy Olson. “As part of the grand opening, our November 12 auction will feature many unique items including a large cactus horse sculpture, a phenomenal Tommy Singer saddle with turquoise and silver, Charles Loloma’s turquoise necklace and a gold ring, a historic chuckwagon and so much more.”
