TheaterWorks Presents A Chorus Line
Peoria, AZ — TheaterWorks is proud to present A Chorus Line, the legendary musical that redefined Broadway, running February 6–22, 2026 at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts.
Winner of 9 Tony Awards and celebrating its 50th anniversary, A Chorus Line remains one of the most influential and beloved musicals in theatre history. Set during a single high-stakes audition, the show places audiences inside the rehearsal hall as seventeen dancers reveal their hopes, fears, and personal stories—all in pursuit of a coveted spot in the chorus.
With iconic songs including “One,” “I Hope I Get It,” and “What I Did for Love,” the musical combines electrifying choreography with deeply human storytelling, offering a rare and intimate look at the lives behind the spotlight.
This production is directed and choreographed by Molly Lajoie, a familiar and respected artist throughout the Phoenix theatre community. Lajoie has worked extensively across the Valley as a director, choreographer, and performer, including directing and choreographing TheaterWorks’ 2018 production of A Chorus Line and the 2024 Sondheim Tribute Revue. Her return to this iconic title brings both deep familiarity and renewed perspective to the piece.
Music direction is by Lincoln Wright, TheaterWorks’ Resident Music Director, whose leadership anchors the production’s celebrated score and vocals.
In the iconic role of Cassie, TheaterWorks audiences will see local performer, Emma Victoria Clark, whose personal connection to the show adds a powerful layer to the performance. Clark first saw A Chorus Line at the age of eleven—an experience she credits as the catalyst for pursuing a career in theatre. She now steps into what she describes as her “dream role” in the musical that inspired her journey.
Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, Clark graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cleveland State University with a B.A. in Theatre and French and a minor in Dance. Her favorite credits include Sally Bowles in Cabaret (CSU), Cassandra in Cats (TheaterWorks), Francisca in West Side Story (Orlando Shakes), and The Angel in Angels in America (CSU). She has also served as choreographer for Caroline, or Change (Black Theatre Troupe), Mean Girls HSV (The Beck Center), and Cinderella (Near West Theatre), and spent many years dancing down Main Street U.S.A. at Walt Disney World.
This production of A Chorus Line also marks Clark’s return to the stage after welcoming her first child seven months ago, making her performance especially meaningful both personally and artistically.
“A Chorus Line is a tribute to the performers who dedicate their lives to this art form,” said Director of Patron Experience, Paul Pedersen. “Fifty years later, its themes of ambition, sacrifice, and identity continue to resonate, particularly through the voices of today’s artists.”
Performances will take place at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, located at 10580 N. 83rd Drive, Peoria, AZ 85345, with fourteen performances scheduled, including evening shows, weekend matinees, and a weekday matinee.
