ROCK AND ROLL event races into Sahuarita, AZ on September 11, 2021, with Live Music, Classic Cars, Live Painting, Food Trucks, and more
The inaugural event will bring together the community through classic cars, music, and fantastic food
SAHUARITA, AZ—Join the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance and the Town of Sahuarita at the inaugural ROCK AND ROLL SAHUARITA community celebration of all things classic cars, art, and timeless rock music. This will be an all-ages opportunity to engage in art and culture as a community.
On Saturday, September 11, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., ROCK AND ROLL SAHUARITA will highlight the nostalgia of days past, featuring the music, cars, and dance of its time.
The event is set to take place in the open-air grass soccer field of the Quail Creek – Veterans Municipal Park. Attendees are invited to bring their picnic blankets and chairs to enjoy the event in the large outdoor space with their family and friends. Guests will enjoy a safe and socially distanced atmosphere throughout the evening.
The ROCK AND ROLL SAHUARITA event activities will include classic cars on display, live rock music, kids activities, and an interactive sock hop for all to participate.
FEATURED EXPERIENCES
Live Music with OnesAll (Funk / Top 40 / Classic Rock)
Performing 5 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
OnesAll is a dynamic rock and funk band from Tucson, AZ. This band, featuring a family of musicians, has opened to progressive jazz artists for headline classic rock bands. The band entertains its solid fan base by fusing thick funky grooves, tight vocals, and exciting rock sounds in inspiring cover and original music.

Headlining Live Music Performance featuring the Surf-Sonics (Oldies)
Performing 6:45 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Meet the Surf-Sonics! Surf-Sonics is a four-piece classic rock band fronted by Arizona hall of fame musician Mike Hebert (guitar and keyboards) and Mike Yarema (vocals). Featuring surf instrumental songs of the 1960’s by the Ventures, the Surfaris, Dick Dale and the Del Tones- the group also performs rock and roll tunes with car themes by Chuck Berry, Link Ray and the Beach Boys,- Little Deuce Coupe, Hot Rod Lincoln, Route 66, and much more! We invite car clubs and owners of classic rides to participate in this car show and live music concert event. For some of us its all about…the Cars and Guitars!
Community Sock Hop Interactive Dance Performance with Annette Mesa Dance Fitness Studio
Performing 6:15 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
Get up and DANCE to some retro rock and roll with Sahuarita’s favorite community dance instructor – Annette Mesa Dance Fitness. Annette and her class of dancers will lead participants in several fun line dances and easy-to-follow steps.

Live Plein Air Painting of Classic Cars
ROCK AND ROLL SAHUARITA will feature live painting with local artists painting on canvas, inspired by the classic cars at the event. All of the paintings will be available for purchase at the event. Participating artists include Abel Pato Aguilar, Susan Alden, Eli Farias, Terri Gay, Judith Gary, Kathy McLean, Barbara Mulleneaux Art, and Chad Worth.
Interactive Art Activities
Attendees of all ages will enjoy their time at the event, including grab-and-go art activities with onsite demonstrations. Some of the activity highlights include custom coloring pages, painting of mini Hot Wheels cars, and art kits.

The ROCK AND ROLL SAHUARITA event is the true essence of Creative Placemaking, cultivating the arts as an essential part of Sahuarita’s identity.
There is no cost to attend the event.
Sahuarita is located in the historic Santa Cruz Valley, surrounded by early Spanish missions, frontier outposts, and historic mines. Located just 15 miles south of Tucson, Sahuarita is south of the Tohono O’odham Nation towards the north end of Green Valley.
