SAVMA, a professional association of Volunteer Engagement Professionals (VEPs), promoting
excellence in volunteer program management, is pleased to announce five major awards presented to
individuals, organizations, and groups whose volunteerism improves the quality of life in our
community. The awardees are:

Volunteer of the Year Award – Rose Taulton, Juneteenth Festival
Exceptional Governance Volunteer Award – Katie Maxwell, Youth On Their Own
Corporate Volunteerism Award – Home Depot
Exceptional Volunteer Program Award – Greater Tucson Leadership
Volunteer Engagement Professional Award – Angelica Town, Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Southern Arizona

Awardees will be recognized at the SAVMA Awards breakfast, featuring keynote speaker Brenda
Meller, Chief Engagement Officer, Meller Marketing. Brenda Meller is a nationally recognized LinkedIn
expert, speaker, and author of Social Media Pie: How to Enjoy a Bigger Slice of LinkedIn.

The SAVMA Awards celebrate the extraordinary contributions of those who go above and beyond in
their service. With awards for individual volunteers, volunteer programs, and volunteer engagement
professionals, we recognize the importance of people at all levels of service organizations seeking to
better our community. Publicly celebrating, appreciating them, and recognizing their work to make our
communities happier and healthier is a win-win for all.
