47th Annual BLESSING OF THE VINES

April 12 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm MST

The 47th Annual BLESSING OF THE VINES will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10AM-5PM at Sonoita Vineyards, 290 Elgin Canelo Road, in Elgin, Arizona in Sonoita Wine Country. The daylong event includes the Blessing of the Vines Procession at noon with Monsignor Greg Adolf from Saint Andrews and his clergy guests to celebrate the beginning of spring and growing season.

47th Annual Blessing of the Vines is $25.00 pre-sale admission online, $30 at the door and includes souvenir glass and 6 wine tastings from local participating wineries.

Live Music all day provided by Jeff and Jill Driscoll and Zaylie Windsor. Guests may purchase lunch from Las Vigas and Better Birdie plus Fine Art and Craft Vendors onsite. Participating wineries with Sonoita Vineyards: The Elgin Distillery, The Elgin Winery, Lightning Ridge Cellars, and Twisted Union Wine Company.

This is the first of three festivals at Sonoita Vineyards for 2025 – HarvestFest is scheduled August 2, 2025, and the 25th Annual Sonoita AVA New Release Festival is Saturday, November 8, 2025. Sonoita Vineyards is available for tastings, private tours, luncheons, weddings and special events, company getaways and retreats.

The oldest commercial vineyard and winery in Arizona, Sonoita Vineyards opened in 1983, and now includes over 30 acres of vines. Located 35-miles southeast of Tucson in Elgin, Sonoita Vineyards is a 25-acre vineyard situated on the south side of a hillside, surrounded by rolling grasslands. The Sonoita American Viticultural Area is a basin surrounded by three mountain ranges, the Huachuca Mountains, the Santa Rita Mountains, and the Whetstone Mountains. The vineyard plantings are 4,500 feet above sea level, some of the highest in North America. This hillside planting protects the vines from harsh winds and frost. The grape varietals grown at Sonoita Vineyards are Chardonnay, Mission, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Malbec.
