AFI FEST 2025 presented by Canva will take place October 22-26 at the TCL Chinese Theatres in the heart of Hollywood. The highly acclaimed five-day film festival will feature a curated selection of Red Carpet Premieres, Special Screenings, World Cinema and Documentaries, as well as an Academy Award^®-qualifying Short Film Competition.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognizes AFI FEST as a qualifying festival for the Short Film categories at the annual Academy Awards^®. The Grand Jury Award winners at AFI FEST for Live Action, Documentary and Animated Short will be eligible for the Best Live Action Short, Best Documentary Short and Best Animated Short Academy Awards^® categories.
