Cave Creek Museum and Kiwanis Family Fun Days present “Fiber Fun Day”
Cave Creek, Arizona – On Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 10 AM-2 PM, Cave Creek Museum (CCM)/Kiwanis Family fun Days will present “Fiber Fun Day.” The event will take place at Cave Creek Museum.
On April 18, meet Cave Creek resident and felt sculptor Roxanne Eklund. Eklund uses Churro sheep wool, sourced from indigenous Navajo shepherds, to create sculptures inspired by their culture.
“Guests can try their hand at a spinning wheel and other ’tools of the trade’ while they enjoy a day focused on fiber arts that is geared to visitors of all ages,” says JoAnn Stuckey, the museum’s executive director.
Eklund has worked in the creative arena her entire career. For almost 30 years she spent time as a designer and partner for a jewelry business. She was in fashion design for nine years before becoming an adjunct associate professor at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn N.Y. Eklund is a docent (museum teacher) at the Heard Museum and showcases her work at the Finer Arts Gallery and Sonoran Arts League in Cave Creek.
This program is free thanks to the generous financial support of Kiwanis Club of Carefree. Registration is limited and required. Register at cavecreekmuseum.org. Cave Creek Museum volunteers are invited to a private session with Eklund from 12-1 PM following the public program. For more information about becoming a museum volunteer, visit cavecreekmuseum.org/volunteer-new.
