February 7 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm MST

Cave Creek, Arizona – Cave Creek Museum Presents will feature “Celebrate the Route 66 Centennial with Roger Naylor” on February 7, 2026, from 2-4 PM at the Holland Center in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Route 66 turns 100 years old in 2026 and author and travel writer Roger Naylor will discuss the Mother Road’s history and cultural significance. Arizona is the state that saved Route 66 and Naylor will tell that remarkable story.

“Learn about the astounding scenery, small town getaways, and mom and pop eateries that still are found along the Arizona portion of the Mother Road,” says Naylor. “If the Grand Canyon is the heart of Arizona, then Route 66 is the main artery.”

An award-winning Arizona travel writer and author, Naylor’s work has appeared in The Arizona Republic, USA Today, The Guardian, Country Magazine, Arizona Highways and more. Naylor’s books include Arizona National Parks and Monuments, Awesome Arizona: 200 Amazing Facts about the Grand Canyon State, Arizona’s Scenic Roads and Hikes, Arizona Kicks on Route 66 and Crazy for the Heat: Arizona Tales of Ghosts, Gumshoes and Bigfoot, among others. Naylor’s books will be available for sale at the event. For reservations, visit cavecreekmuseum.orgas there is a limit and this event will sell out quickly. The cost of admission is $10.
