Cave Creek Museum’s Kiwanis Family Fun Day Meet a Miner Day

Cave Creek, Arizona – Kiwanis Family Fun Day and Cave Creek Museum, presents Meet a Miner Day on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10 AM-12 PM at Cave Creek Museum.

“Immerse yourself in the day of the life of a miner, blacksmith and other characters from Cave Creek’s 1800s gold mining era,” says Tamsin Wolff, museum educator. “Try your hand at gold panning, experience what children in the gold camp did for fun, and watch demonstrations in the blacksmith shop, where iron tools were made onsite for the mines. Costumed interpreters will guide your family through the historic mining campus and tell stories of the gold-fueled days of the American West.”

Headlining the event will be Chaz Lee of Six Gun Entertainment. Lee’s experience is in American drama, improvisational theater, scene study and script analysis. He has experience as a stunt professional, designed stage combat and is recognized for his poetry, song lyrics and short story and screenplay writing. Registration is limited and required. The 55-year-old museum’s mission is to preserve the artifacts of the prehistory, history, culture and legacy of the Cave Creek Mining District and the Cave Creek/Carefree foothills area through education, research and interpretive exhibits.
