DOWNTOWN GLENDALE ARTS & CULTURE FEST

A collaboration between the City of Glendale and the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA) – the Downtown Glendale Arts & Culture Fest will feature immersive and experiential activities throughout Downtown Glendale. Engaging and community-minded experiences include an artisan market, interactive arts activities, downtown pop-up performances, and live art.

The Glendale Civic Center will be transformed with exciting cultural music, drumming, dance, and interactive arts throughout the day.

NTERACTIVE ART EXPERIENCESInteractive art installations will give attendees unique opportunities to engage with artists and public art works throughout the Civic Center Plaza and participating Downtown Glendale businesses. Highlights include community chalk art, a large-scale mural, youth painting activities, and a musical instrument “petting zoo.”

Featured performers include Vessel Performing Mystic from 12:00-3:00 PM and performances by Glendale Community College ensembles. Attendees can explore watercolor painting led by artist Debra Lee Morrow and experience Caribbean steel drums and West African drumming with Sankofa Island Magic.

FOOD VENDORS

The festival will feature some of the area’s best food trucks, as well as an opportunity to grab a cold beer or local glass of wine near the mainstage event.

The Glendale Ambassadors are teaming up with Hensley to provide a variety of local beers, wine and canned cocktails for enjoyment throughout the duration of the event, near the event stage.

A diverse and delicious food trucks will line the streets of Murphy Park, serving up everything from lobster rolls to Hawaiian honey cone desserts.

LIMITED EDITION STICKER COLLECTION IN DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES

The Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance teamed up with artist Ignacio Garcia to develop a series of limited-edition Glendale sticker designs.

On the weekend of the festival, attendees can visit local businesses and collect all of the 20 signature Glendale designs. PARIS IN SPRINGYou won’t need to set foot on an airplane to experience Parisian style! Visit Historic Downtown Glendale’s Paris in the Spring event on Saturday, March 9 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for a worldly experience! This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy fine food, culture and shopping with a Parisian twist. Start your Paris in the Spring journey at the Arizona Information Center (5836 W. Palmaire Ave.) to pick up the activity list and walking map.
