February 7, 2022, Tucson, AZ); Invisible Theatre is proud to announce a special community talk back with Adiba Nelson following the Wednesday, February 16, 2022, 7:30 PM performance of EMERGENCY by Daniel Beaty.and produced and directed by Susan Claassen, assisted by Emily Gates. A Slave Ship emerges out of the Hudson River in front of the Statue of Liberty sending NYC into a frenzy. EMERGENCY stars To-Ree-Nee Wolf, Richard Thompson and Myani Watson, and is an intricately woven, urgent, witty and moving exploration of our shared humanity and what it means to be free.
Adiba Nelson, author, screenwriter, public speaker, disability rights advocate, and subject of the Emmy winning documentary, The Full Nelson, began working as a regular contributor to the local NPR affiliate, Arizona Public Media radio show, Arizona Spotlight. She presented her first TEDx talk (Skating Downhill: The Art of Claiming Your Life) to a sold-out audience. Adiba has bylines with HuffPo, The Washington Post, The Lily, Everyday Feminism, and Parents magazine conglomerate. Focusing on issues around race, parenting, disability and womanhood, Adiba recently completed her memoir “Ain’t That A Mother” (Blackstone Publishing, May 2022), and is currently working on several projects related to her debut title.

located at 1400 N. First Avenue (at Drachman), Tucson, AZ 85719. The Post Show Discussion
will be following the performance on February 16, 2022 at 7:30 PM.
The single show ticket price is $40. A special student rate is $20.
Reservations are required – all seats are reserved.
There will be no sales at the Box Office before performances.
Since our Covid-19 protocols are strictly enforced, seating remains very limited!
The running time is 90 minutes with no intermission, in addition to the discussion time following the
February 16th performance.
EMERGENCY is appropriate for mature audiences (16 and up).
