Kiwanis Preschool Pioneers’ December program at Cave Creek Museum features “Coyte Claus”

Cave Creek, Arizona – On December 4, 2025, from 10-11 AM, Cave Creek Museum (CCM)/Kiwanis Preschool Pioneers ages 3-5 years old and their caregivers are invited to hear the story Coyte Claus: A Southwestern DesertTale by Cory Cooper Hansen. The book brings the cultural heritage of the Sonoran Desert to life through the familiar genre of Clement C. Moore’s A visit from St. Nicholas. Children will enjoy movement and dance while learning about Sonoran flora and faun and will be able to make a treat to take with them for our Sonoran birds. Pre-registration is required on the museum’s website at: cavecreekmuseum.org. Kiwanis Preschool Pioneers is a program for children and accompanying adult who will lead their little one(s) assisted by museum volunteers. Age-appropriate books will set the stage for follow-up activities that include movement and music, trying a craft process, like grinding corn, exploring museum artifacts or acting out part of the story.

The 55-year-old museum’s mission is to preserve the artifacts of the prehistory, history, culture and legacy of the Cave Creek Mining District and the Cave Creek/Carefree foothills area through education, research, and interpretive exhibits.
