Sol Dog Lodge Upcoming Events

Tucson, AZ. – Saturday, November 1 – 9am – noon – Donuts, Donations, & Dogs Pet Food Collection – in Oro Valley, Steam Pump Ranch, 10901 N. Oracle Road., Oro Valley, AZ 85737. Enjoy free coffee and donuts, other dog lovers, and help dog owners in need with your pet food donations for the Marana Food Bank. We will be located outside the wonderful Pusch House Museum (location B on map) at Steam Pump Ranch.

We all know how much food prices have gone up — and the cost of feeding our pets has risen right along with it. Families in our community are feeling the strain, and many are struggling to keep food in their pets’ bowls.

We’re hosting a special 3-hour Pet Food Drive at a new (to us), wonderful location to help meet that need. Please stop by with a pet food donation — opened bags are perfectly fine — and help us help others keep their pets healthy and home where they belong.

Sunday, November 2 8am-noon Pawtrait Party – This Sunday

We still have a few spots left for our Pawtrait Party. Treat your pup (and yourself) to a 15-minute professional photo session with photographer Molly Condit of Great Bear Media. You’ll receive three beautifully retouched portraits — perfect for holiday cards, gifts, or just showing off your best friend.

Sunday, November 9th – Final Rattlesnake Avoidance Session of 2025

Don’t miss the last opportunity this year to help keep your dog safe around rattlesnakes. This hands-on session will teach your dog how to recognize and avoid rattlesnakes, giving you peace of mind during outdoor adventures.

The sessions begin at 7am and are scheduled throughout the morning. $125 per session.

The sessions are at Sol Dog Lodge and Training Center and registration is done through Animal Experts of Arizona. Call Marc at 520-272-1825 to register or Lee at 520-591-2829 for questions regarding the training process.

Sunday, November 16 – 9am – 4pm Pet CPR & First Aid Class

This full-day class, at Sol Dog Lodge and Training Center, is perfect for rescue volunteers, pet parents, and anyone who wants to be prepared in an emergency. Learn life-saving skills that could make all the difference for a pet in need.

Thanks to a generous donor, we also have scholarship funds available for those unable to pay the full registration fee. If you know someone who could benefit, please have them reach out to us.

Cholla Afterlife

Our leadership team recently had the privilege of visiting Cholla Afterlife, a water-based pet cremation mortuary. We were warmly welcomed by their team and given the unique opportunity to learn about their compassionate process of aquamation as an alternative to cremation. A heartfelt thank you to Cholla Afterlife for sharing this behind the scenes experience with us—and we couldn’t be prouder to recommend their services.

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

We’ll be open and caring for our boarding clients during the Thanksgiving holiday, but please note that we will not be taking drop-off or pick-up appointments on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27th. We look forward to seeing you and your pups before or after the holiday.
