With a heavy heart we want to announce that Dr. Gordon Dutt, Granddad, passed peacefully away at his home on September 4th, 2021. Granddad was, is and forever will be the Father of the present day wine industry in Arizona. He will be greatly missed here at Sonoita Vineyards with his infectious smile and love of Arizona Wine. Granddad’s legacy will live on in the new generations of Arizona Wine growers and producers. I would not be who I am today without his pushing me to be a Winemaker. “Lori you were born to make wine, you can do this!” He helped get many started in this Industry. He was instrumental in establishing the Arizona Wine Growers Association, the Sonoita American Viticulture Area, and the AZ Wine Commision. I am forever grateful for his guidance.
