TUCSON ARIZONA BOYS CHORUS HOLIDAY CONCERT

Tucson, AZ. – The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus will present its annual Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 13 at 3:00pm at
the University of Arizona School of Music Crowder Hall. Under the direction of new Artistic Director, Dr. Jordan Rakita, accompanied by a string quartet, the choristers will perform music of the season including Christmas carols and sacred songs.

All choirs of the Chorus will perform including the youngest from the Cadet Choir, Northwest Voices, and the intermediate group Towne Singers performing Patapan, Silent Night-Holy Night, African Praise Noel and Convidando está la noche. Touring Chorus and Tucson Arizona Young Men’s Ensemble (TAYME) will sing Adon Olam and Ceremony of Carols. Holiday songs sung by the Touring Chorus and TAYME include The Hands that First Held Mary’s Child, A Holly Jolly Sing Along and the group’s signature a cappella version of Carol of the Bells.

The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus Holiday Concert is a popular Tucson tradition that began in 1939 with a Christmas Eve concert performed by eight boys under the direction of founder Eduardo Caso. This year’s program features boys ages 6 through 21 who are members of the Touring Chorus, the Towne Singers, the Cadet Choir, the Northwest Voices and the Tucson Arizona Young Men’s Ensemble.

The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus, known internationally for its traditional boychoir repertoire and western flair, has performed throughout the United States and the world. Their local holiday concert is an established and popular event during the festive holiday season.

Reserved seat tickets for the Holiday Concert are $20.00 premium seating, $15.00 general and $8.00 for children under 12 and are available at the Boys Chorus office located at 5770 E. Pima Street, online at boyschorus.org or by calling (520) 296-6277.
