TUCSON COMIC-CON MORE ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

Tucson Comic-Con is thrilled to announce its 15th annual event, set to take place over Labor Day Weekend, from August 30 to September 1, 2024, at the Tucson Convention Center. This year’s convention promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring an incredible lineup of celebrity guests, comic book creators, immersive experiences, and community-focused events.

A Star-Studded Guest Lineup

This year, Tucson Comic-Con proudly welcomes a stellar lineup of Guests of Honor, including legendary Marvel editor and writer Roy Thomas, acclaimed creature actor Doug Jones, veteran actor John Ratzenberger, WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart, and beloved actress Dee Wallace. Attendees will have the chance to meet these stars, attend exclusive panels, and even get autographs and photos.

New and Exciting Activities for All Ages

Tucson Comic-Con is committed to delivering a top-notch pop culture experience, with something for everyone. New this year are two creative activities that are sure to be fan favorites. Gil’s Paint & Snack Party offers attendees a chance to participate in a guided paint session, where, for $10, they can create a 16×20 design of their choice, all while enjoying snacks in a relaxed and social environment.

For those who enjoy miniatures, our Paint and Take area allows attendees to paint their own miniatures for a fun way to be creative and leave with a unique keepsake.

In addition, the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation’s Ready, Set, Rec! program will host a special playroom for kids, offering an engaging space for young attendees to have fun with their families.

Community-Focused Initiatives Tucson Comic-Con is dedicated to giving back to the community. This year’s Silent Auction will raise funds for two important local charities: Youth on Their Own and the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

We are also proud to host the annual Little Heroes Program, an invitation-only event designed to give children with disabilities a unique and unforgettable experience at the con.

Inclusive and Family-Friendly Spaces

The Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF) will be hosting an Inclusive Quiet Zone, a safe and welcoming space for attendees of all backgrounds to relax and recharge. This quiet area offers low-stimulation activities, a lactation and prayer space, and a comfortable environment for anyone needing a break from the hustle and bustle of the convention.

Our youngest fans will also have their moment in the spotlight with the Youth Costume Contest, taking place Saturday afternoon, while adults can showcase their creativity in the Adult Costume Contest later that evening. Both contests are sure to be highlights of the weekend, with fantastic prizes and bragging rights on the line.

Interactive Experiences and Immersive Fun

Tucson Comic-Con is renowned for its immersive experiences, and this year is no exception. Attendees can dive into the Epic Scavenger Hunt, exploring the convention while competing for exciting prizes and eternal glory! The hunt will take place throughout the weekend and is a fantastic way for fans to engage with the con in a fun and interactive way.

Photo opportunities abound with fan groups bringing movie-accurate replica droids from Star Wars, Halo Spartans, and beloved characters from DC, Marvel, and fairy tales to life. Come in costume or come as you are!

Convention Hours and More
The convention will kick off on Friday, August 30, with the Exhibit Hall opening from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Programming, including celebrity panels, workshops, and gaming sessions, will be held throughout the weekend, ensuring there’s never a dull moment.
