BLACK LOTUS, Znora’s first full-length album, brings a vintage yet fresh and vibrant sound. The beginning of the album is a psychedelic entrance to tracks that are reminiscent of arena rock, layered with plenty of soul. The title track is a fast-paced instrumental that takes listeners on a journey to deliver them to the second half of the record. Finally, building up to the final track that hits hard with a dramatic ending that this trio does so well. There are some surprises! Adrian Negrete lyricist, guitarist and vocalist has explained that he wants the song order to feel like a live set, played on stage with that energy and performance felt through the headphones and speakers. Josh Montano adds his pounding rock drums and Johny Rohde holds it down with groove- packed basslines and vocal harmonies. All tracks were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Ricky Wascher at CimaMusic in Tucson, AZ.
More About the Bands:
ZNORA: These three great friends play guitar-driven rock n’ roll with soul. Their varied influences are evident in their unique, genre-bending sound. In 2024, this hard-working band played 122 shows in 29 cities in 6 different states. They have recently opened for Alice Cooper after winning first place in his contest run by Solid Rock Teen Centers. In October, they were direct support for ZZ Top. They are also set to open for Sammy Hagar just 2 weeks before ZNORA FEST.
Birds and Arrows: Andrea and Pete Connolly are an art rock duo based in Tucson, AZ. Relocated from the North Carolina Triangle music scene to Tucson in 2016. They first built a name for themselves in NC being featured on stage and on compilation records with bands such as Big Star, Wilco, Whiskeytown and more. They’ve been voted “Best Rock Band” in Tucson Weekly readers three years running. “Their sound and art direction make them seem much larger than a duo, churning out rock music that can jump from personal ballads to massive jams that threaten to swallow the performers up. Contemplative and a little psychedelic just like the desert itself”.
Simple Existence: An indie rock band that formed over 10 years ago in Tucson, Arizona. Through diverse musical influences, soulful guitar, booming bass, and powerful drums bring a unique blend of vintage and modern sounds to the stage.
Swigfoot: A band that is quickly making a name for themselves with their unique blend of high energy ska-punk. Led by legendary musicians from notable bands like Hipster Daddyo & The Handgrenades, Troy’s Bucket, and The Fauxriginals. The band brings a BIG brass sound that is sure to get audiences moving and grooving. Unlike Bigfoot, you don’t have to go on a wild goose chase to find Swigfoot. Just listen for the sound of the crowd sipping on their beverages and dancing to the band’s BIG brass ska-punk beats.
Tonight’s Sunshine: Gay Country, Ukulele Metal, and on-stage theatrics the band is made to sink your teeth into. They’re based in Tucson, AZ, and have an umbrella genre of pop-rock but their music has sounds from every genre. Rock, metal, alternative, pop with Latin influences and beyond. They take traditionally happy and mellow ukulele sounds and make it dark. Mixed with intricate, technical drumbeats, traditional rock/metal guitar, and powerhouse vocals, Tonight’s Sunshine is unlike any other.
