Yes, these times are earlier than we normally do our monthly pet food collection because we have so much going on:
7am – Al Gusto Coffee Company truck will be there all morning long. Aldo has also offered a free cup of his premium coffee for those bringing a pet food donation.
7am-9am – meet the dog trainers from Sol Dog Lodge and Training Center: ask questions, spend some time getting to know them.
Meet the retired racing greyhounds from Ireland. We have two dogs available for adoption and they will be there for the meeting and oogling.
Meet Tonic – A Gentle Soul Settling into Home Life
Tonic is a sweet, low-maintenance guy with great house manners. He’s quick to respond to gentle guidance, reliably uses the dog door, and hasn’t shown interest in getting into anything he shouldn’t.
New to home life, Tonic is adjusting beautifully. While household sounds like the cooler once surprised him, he’s becoming more comfortable each day. Tile floors are still a work in progress, but some well-placed rugs are helping him build confidence.
He thrives on a calm, predictable routine: a morning walk and breakfast, followed by a cozy nap until lunchtime. After lunch, he patrols the backyard for lizards, then settles in for another restful nap before dinner.
Tonic walks nicely on leash but may react to other dogs, so a watchful handler is helpful. He hasn’t quite figured out toys yet—but backyard lizard watching? That’s his favorite pastime.
If you’re looking for a gentle companion who’s learning to love the quiet comforts of home, Tonic might be the one.
Meet Queenie – A 72-Pound Retired Racer Ready to Steal Your Heart
Queenie is a sweet and gentle soul who’s traded in the racetrack for a life of leisure. She adores squeaky toys, short strolls, and car rides—and nothing makes her happier than resting her head on your lap.
This lovely girl is dog-door and crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and gets along well with other greyhounds. Her daily routine includes two tasty meals (kibble with canned food and a splash of fish oil), followed by some well-deserved Greenies treats. She’s at her liveliest around mealtime, then settles in for long, peaceful naps. At night, you’ll find her happily curled up in her favorite bed in the primary bedroom.
If you’re looking for a calm, devoted companion with a gentle spirit, Queenie could be just the one.
