You can’t say Tucson Comic-Con without “Tucson”! Join us in welcoming guests from our backyard; Arizonan talents: Jay Fotos, Danny Marianino, Vic Holins, and Dulce Ramirez!
Jay Fotos is a multi-award-winning comic veteran. He has worked on hundreds of projects including Spawn, Godzilla, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and 30 Days of Night. Fotos has worked on mediums beyond comics, including animation, video/board games, album art, TV, motion pictures, and toy design. He also teaches courses at Phoenix College in their Comic Arts Degree Program.
Danny Marianino is a born storyteller known for his work on Don’t Ever Punch a Rockstar: A Collection of Hate Mail and Other Crazy Rumors, It Blows My Mind, The Mega Book of Revenge Films Volume 1: The Big Payback, and To Make Matters Worse and The Belligerent Book of Movie Quotes.
Vic Hollins is a professional illustrator and mixed-media artist based in Tucson, AZ. She is known for her vibrant use of color, feminine designs, and intricate patterns. She self-published the comic series Wilder and has spent the past three years working on a new comic and is currently working with ceramics to create assemblages.
Dulce Ramirez is a passionate sculptor and artist who was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. Her art style first took shape after watching John Carpenter’s 1982 “The Thing” and was further influenced by films with practical effects like Resident Evil 1. The horror influences can be seen in her sculpture work. She has dreams of having her own gallery to spotlight “weird organic gory artwork” like hers and give a space for those artists.
