Danny Zelikso Presents welcomes renowned progressive rock musician Steve Hackett to the historic Celebrity Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 12th. For tickets and the venue’s Covid-19 policy, please visit celebritytheatre.com
As is familiar with Steve Hackett’s tours, his 2022 shows will commence with a select variety of material from his extensive solo career, which will set the scene for the magnificence of Genesis’ Seconds Out, as well as Genesis Revisited, all supported by some of the best musicians on the planet.
Hackett gained prominence as the lead guitarist for the progressive rock band Genesis (1970-1977). With Genesis, Hackett’s guitar playing produced some of the group’s most memorable moments, from the sensitivity of his acoustic sound on “Horizons” and “Blood on the Rooftops” to the dramatic rock guitar solos of “Firth of Fifth” and “Fountain of Salmacis.” Hackett, along with the group Genesis, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
Hackett’s solo career sprang to life with his magical and mysterious debut album Spectral Mornings in 1979. The mid-eighties brought forth the highly successful single “Cell 151”, as well as the Steve Hackett and Steve Howe super group GTR. Since 2013 with the reintroduction of his album Genesis Revisited, Hackett has re-ignited passion, drama and sheer musical mastery with his highly acclaimed tours spanning not only the splendid years of Genesis and their classic line up with Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford, but also choice cuts from his own repertoire of work. Stellar reviews from Hackett’s pre-pandemic tours prove that this innovative, immensely talented artist is at the peak of his career.
Tickets ($37, $57, $77 and $100) go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 12th at celebritytheatre.com. All tickets are subject to sales tax, facility and ticketing surcharges. All ages welcome. Celebrity Theatre is located at 440 N. 32nd St., in Phoenix.
